With a height of 135 metres and 38 storeys, the AUSTRO Tower in Vienna’s 3rd district is one of a handful of lighthouse projects that have brought a lot of dynamism to the surrounding districts in recent years. In the case of the AUSTRO Tower developed by Soravia, this effect is “to the power of three”, so to speak: because the impressive office tower is only the gap closure for an axis that stretches from the “TownTown” business district, already built a few years ago, to the spectacular “Triiiple”. On a gross floor area of about 43,400 m², about 28,000 m² of office space will be created, which will be occupied by the three future main tenants on a long-term basis: Austro Control, ASFINAG and the project developers Soravia. In addition, the office tower will also include a conference centre and a company restaurant and café.
What all three of these important urban development projects have in common is not only visionary architecture and impressive implementation, but also a significant proportion of precast elements from Kirchdorf Concrete Solutions. Because the AUSTRO Tower – like almost all of Vienna’s lighthouse projects of recent years – is also based on over 300 high-strength and extremely compact Rotop® columns, manufactured at the MABA site in Micheldorf, Upper Austria, which specialises in spun concrete technology.
