MOVEBLOC®: PARK & CHARGE-SOLUTION FOR E-BIKES

With MOVEBLOC®, the Kirchdorfer Group presents a combined e-bike charging and parking station that opens up new paths in e-mobility infrastructure.

The Kirchdorfer group’s Concrete Solutions division has developed a robust and multifunctional e-bike charging station to counteract the lack of charging infrastructure for e-bikes and create more easy-to-lock-and-secure parking spaces large enough for e-bikes.

Under the trademark “MOVEBLOC®”, the first prototypes were presented in 2020 in the form of a monolithic prefabricated concrete element, based on the classic DELTABLOC®. Four slots allow easy parking of the e-bikes, which can additionally be locked on a solid stainless steel bar. The three-metre long and 2.4-tonne concrete element is produced by the Kirchdorf-based Concrete Solutions subsidiary MABA at the Wöllersdorf site. It can be easily placed at its destination with or without a foundation using a loading crane.

“MOVEBLOC® is now already offered in three versions: MOVEBLOC® PURE, MOVEBLOC® READY and MOVEBLOC® Storage. The latest generation comes with a factory-integrated and illuminated charging bar that is equipped with common e-bike charging systems as well as additional Schuko plugs. Separate chargers are not required,” explains Kirchdorfer Concrete Solutions Business Unit Manager Klaus Aichholzer. This makes the stable charging station a “plug & play” application. A central main switch makes it possible to simply disconnect the MOVEBLOC® from the mains when it is not needed.

First pilot projects by the tourism associations in Blumau as well as in Bad Waltersdorf in Eastern Styria are already in operation. “The MOVEBLOC® is the ideal solution for all municipalities, tourism as well as business facilities that want to provide their customers and visitors with an elegant and compact parking, locking and charging option for e-bikes,” says Aichholzer. “With this, we have succeeded in taking a big step towards infrastructure expansion for environmentally friendly e-mobility.”
