On 29.11.2021, the managing director of Kirchdorfer Concrete Solutions and the majority owner of Vasútvill Kft, met in Szombathely to sign the contract for the 49 percent participation of Vasútvill in MABA Hungaria. Kirchdorf-based Concrete Solutions remains the majority owner.
After 6 months of negotiations, Michael Wardian, Managing Director of Kirchdorfer Concrete Solutions and Managing Director of the Kirchdorfer Group since the beginning of 2022, is “very satisfied to now have a strong partner for Hungary.” As one of the key players in the Hungarian railway construction market, Vasútvill has been present in this market for more than 70 years. It specialises in the construction and maintenance of overhead lines. In 2018, the company expanded its portfolio of activities to include its own railway construction machinery. Since then, the share of tendered projects for the construction and maintenance of railway lines has been steadily increasing.
Ing. Zsolt András Homlok, majority owner of Vasútvill Kft, will support the business activities as an expert with his extensive experience in railway construction as well as his knowledge of the Hungarian market. Technology and production will remain the responsibility of the Kirchdorfer Group. Otherwise, no important changes are planned at MABA Hungaria at the moment.
Ing. Homlok sees “the successful cooperation with a company that has very important expertise and numerous references as an opportunity to strengthen business activities and presence both on the Hungarian market and internationally.” Using the available resources even more efficiently and expanding the market share in the existing market is the main goal of the investment.
MABA Hungaria is part of Kirchdorfer Concrete Solutions, a division of the Kirchdorfer Group.

About Vasútvill Kft
VASÚTVILL Kft has built and renovated several thousand kilometres of overhead contact lines in Hungary over the past decades and has been involved in all major electrification and modernisation projects of the Hungarian railway network. Its main activity is new construction, renovation and reconstruction of 25 kV, 50-Hertz single-phase overhead lines. Currently, it also carries out construction and renovation projects of overhead lines, financed from EU and national funds, on many lines of the Hungarian railway network.
