With its DELTABLOC® concrete vehicle retention systems, Kirchdorfer Concrete Solutions is the international market and innovation leader . And its highly versatile PHONOBLOC® products are increasingly deployed to provide effective noise protection. Now for the first time, the two systems are combined into a single, space-saving element.
Presented recently, the newly developed Sile&Safe® series represents a pioneering innovation by Kirchdorfer’s research and development engineers: For the first time, a highly effective noise protection layer was integrated right into the classic shape of the company’s renowned DELTABLOC® and CITYBLOC® elements, without compromising their material properties as pertaining to a high performing vehicle retention system. As a series of vehicle impact tests during the fall of 2017 was able to prove effectively, the noise absorbing layer (up to 9 cm in thickness) is performing exactly as required by vehicle retention safety standards.
The new system is designed first and foremost for deployment in lower speed local and regional road networks, where its proximity to the noise emitting source allows for effective noise protection, while at the same time using the restricted space in an optimal way.
High performance solution with minimum space requirement
Conventional vehicle retention and noise protection on lower performance roads is usually accomplished by steel railguards, with higher noise barriers deployed at some distance behind
. This setup requires a lot of space, and also high additional investments for the large noise barriers. By combining the two systems into a single, slim and low element, Sile&Safe®is able to achieve the same noise protection performance with a system depth of only 68 centimeters.
With its standard 4 meter elements, the internationally tried-and-tested DELTABLOC® system with its thousands of impressive implementations is deployed in a linked chain without fundamentation. Available in 25 centimeter steps ranging from system heights from 1.25 up to 2 meters, it provides road operators with a broad range of extremely durable and highly economic high quality products . Whenever space is limited and depending on the required noise cancellation performance, the Sile&Safe®product range is able to outperform conventional systems in a quite impressive way, while at the same time reducing costs.
