[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The Styrian showcase company KAMMEL continues on its path for sustainable resource utilisation. The ground-breaking ceremony for the new mixing plant at the factory site in Grafendorf near Hartberg also marks the start of a sustainable future.<\/strong><\/p>\n

For more than 50 years, the KAMMEL company has stood for quality and reliability. Over time, the company has expanded its range of products and services. The ready-mixed concrete production and the affiliated building materials trade were supplemented by the range of prefabricated parts (e.g.: Kammel prefabricated cellars) in the following years. From simple customer requests at the beginning of the company’s activity, the expectation developed to also offer and execute complete solutions in concrete from planning to installation.<\/p>\n

With the new building, the traditional company receives one of the most modern and environmentally friendly mixing plants in Styria.<\/strong><\/p>\n

At the ground-breaking ceremony on 13 September, KAMMEL Managing Director Franz Strobl explained the motivation behind the new direction taken and the need for a new mixing plant: “After more than 40 years, it is time to replace our well-served mixing plant with a new model and bring production up to date.”<\/p>\n

Until now, a single mixer took care of the production of ready-mixed concrete as well as the supply of the precast production. The new mixing plant is now unique.<\/p>\n

Two mixers are combined in one tower plant: one part is purely responsible for ready-mixed concrete, the second for plant concrete for precast production. This division ensures efficient distribution management for the respective concrete demand and downtimes can be largely avoided. The new mixing plant is scheduled to go into operation in January 2020.<\/p>\n

The mayor of the municipality of Grafendorf Johann Handler and guest of honour at the ground-breaking ceremony expresses his gratitude above all for the commitment of KAMMEL: “The most important goal of the market municipality of Grafendorf as well as of the economic region of Hartberg is the creation of jobs for the people who live here. Our Styrian leading company KAMMEL makes a valuable contribution with investments in the region like this one.”<\/p>\n

“The project is designed for 30 years and is also very close to our hearts because it secures the jobs of our 150 employees in the long term,” says Managing Director Franz Strobl.<\/p>\n

Environmental protection is a top priority at KAMMEL<\/strong><\/p>\n

The use of state-of-the-art filter systems and the closed storage of aggregates reduce the dust and dirt pollution for nature and the environment immensely. With the new construction of the environmentally friendly mixing plant, the fuel consumption is reduced enormously due to a lower filling of the aggregate containers with the loader. The current diesel consumption is around 12,000 litres per year. “With an above-average saving of over 80 %, we are making a positive contribution against the current climate change.” (Strobl)<\/p>\n

The construction of a 30-metre high, compact tower system and corresponding insulation of the outer shell facilitates heating in cold winter months and leads to visible energy savings.<\/p>\n

Also Mag . Michael Wardian, Division Manager of Kirchdorfer Concrete Solutions, was already certain in autumn 2017 that KAMMEL’s joining the Kirchdorfer Group was a long-term investment: “We are very pleased to be able to implement the new mixing plant together with the regional company Kaiser and are confident that both traditional Styrian companies will put on a terrific performance.”<\/p>\n

Recycling plant: new, bigger, more modern<\/strong><\/p>\n

The modern recycling plant in the East Styrian district is also state-of-the-art. Here, the technical residual concrete is washed out into the individual parts, and the residual water and aggregates can be reused. Thus, the production process is closed and there are no residual masses that have to be disposed of at high costs.<\/p>\n

In addition to high energy consumption, the use of the recycling plant also saves lorry journeys of around 3,200 km\/year.
